Qualification: Candidates who have completed their U.G/P.G degree may apply for admission to M.S./Ph.D./Direct Ph.D. programme in all Departments.

• Candidates applying under External category for research programme may confirm whether the current organization/industry/institution in which you are working is having R & D recognition from IIT Madras or else certified by DST / DSIR. Click here for more details.
• Candidates applying under Part-time category for research programme may confirm whether the current organization/industry/institution in which you are working is situated within commutable distance from IIT Madras.

 

·         Candidates can apply to pursue Direct Ph.D. programme in Engineering/Sciences/Management/Humanities & Social Sciences stream after their B.Tech / BE.

 

·         For more details including eligibility criteria for applying to Direct Ph.D. programme, refer the Research Admission Brochure [S.No.5.1.2].

 

·         Meritorious M.S. scholars under Engineering/Management stream with minimum CGPA of 8.0 on a 10.0 point scale are eligible to upgrade to the Ph.D. programme in the same department and will receive two degrees (M.S.+Ph.D.) on completion of the programme.

• January 2022 MS/PhD Admission in the the Department of Civil Engineering is available only under SC/ST categories others need not apply.

• All the communication(s) [such as issuance of Test/Interview Call letters, Offer of Admission letters, etc.] will be made only through Email to the shortlisted/selected candidates. Therefore, the candidates are advised to provide correct Email ID while creating new account and regularly check your email for any updates with respect to your application for admission to Research programme(s) of this institute.
