Explosion due to nitrogen gas leakage at Dhule Chemical Plant, 13-20 dead and over 50 injured.: 3D India Group

Maharashtra: On Saturday morning at 9.45, a blast in a chemical plant causes 13-20 people dead and more than 50 plus workers injured. As per local sources, more than 100 plus workers were present in the plant.

The chemical factory is situated in Waghadi village in Shirpur taluka, Dhule District of Maharastra. Several teams of fire brigades, police, NDRF were engaged in rescue operations at the site.

Union Home minister Amit Shah Spoke to chief minister of Maharastra Devendra Fadnavis and expressed grieve (anguish ) over the incident and given assurance of all support.

A worker told that blast happened due to the leakage in a nitrogen barrel triggered fire and caused explosion in chain of nitrogen cylinders at chemical factory.

CM Devendra Fadnavis told the media that by the evening fire was under control, expressed grief over the loss of lives and announced Rs 5 Lakhs to the kin(family) of the deceased.

Rescue operation was going on till 4 pm and Villagers was asked to stay away from the chemical plant, the blaze has been brought under control.
